biography

Vladimir Shinkarev
was born in 1954 in
Leningrad. He
graduated from the geological department of Leningrad State
University. He was taking
courses at the High
Art-Industrial School
named after V. I. Mukhina and at the Art Institute named after I. E. Repin. In
1985 his book under the title ‘’The Mitkis’’ gave way to the Mitkis’ movement.
His works are in the collections of the State Tretiakov Gallery, the State
Russian Museum, the State Hermitage, Central Exhibition Hall ‘’Manege’’(St. Petersburg),
the Museum of the History of the City (St. Petersburg), Victoria and Albert
Museum (London), Norton Dodge (Zimmerly Museum, New Jersey, the USA) and in
numerous private collections in Russia and abroad.
