Aljoscha

Aljoscha was born in 1974 in Glukhov (Ukraine). He lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Aljoscha is known for developing a new art movement “bioism” or “biofuturism”. His art is based on the creation of works, which express the visual possibilities of synthetic biology and, more recently, bioethical abolitionism. He believes, that in the future artists will work with living substances and create new forms of life and new ethics.

Since 2008, the artist has actively participated in various international exhibition projects (Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, Greece); he is also the winner of the XXXV Premio Bancaja in the category of Sculpture (Valencia, Spain) and the winner of the art prize “Schlosspark 2009” (Cologne, Germany).
