Steambaroque / The soaring baroque
The exhibition “Steambaroque. The soaring Baroque “ is opening on 19th of May in Kirov Central Park of Culture and Recreation, The Old Stables Exhibition rooms (Vlad Kulkov. Dmitry Zukov / Painting. Metal art). Sound – Dmitry Anikin (Re’sequence).
The name of the exhibition is a neologism which contains two trends in art and culture: steampunk and baroque. It was invented by Vlad Kulkov to name a new phenomenon when modern art starts to expand in Saint Petersburg's museums and makes a contact with classic forms. Dmitry Zukov's sculptures and Vlad Kulkov's large-scale colorful paintings will be presented in the exposition.
Dmitry Zukov (born in 1972. Azov). He has finished Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, has participated in exhibitions since 2004. He is a member of the Union of Artists from 2009. Nowadays he lives and works in Republic of Karelia. His works were represented on a lot of personal and collective exhibitions.
Vlad Kulkov (Born in 1986, Liepaja, Latvia). He has finished Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design and "Pro arte" institute. He takes a Phd course in Russian museum. Vlad has taken a part in a lot of collective exhibitions and art-projects in Russia and abroad.
