To draw 01 Nov 2013
To draw - is the project which represents the main directions of the contemporary art in Poland and Russia through the medium of drawing. There are two sections - Polish, which belongs to the neo-surrealistic, "insider" tendency, and Russian, which is connected with activism and the new engaged wave. The project is based on the contrast between these two vectors. And time, when the artists work, can be considered an integrative element.

Present indefinite 29 Jun 2013
Present Indefinite (video, installation, objects) At the end of June in the frames of action «Contemporary Art Night» Anna Nova gallery will present personal project by young artist Ilya Seletsky from Saint-Petersburg «Present Indefinite». The artist was chosen by gallery among many applications for 4th Young Artists Competition «New Projects for Anna Nova». «A man usualy tries to define his place, not only geographicaly but globaly, tries to find the place in reality, world's order. That is research of lofe meaning. The way which with the begining was doomed for collapse but put into human nature. The world, outside and inside, couldn't be controled. The destiny, accident, feeling «something unexpectable», mixture in the head and selffeeling about nowhere to go and what to do with it. So that is what everybody thinks. And that is about the project by Ilya seletsky «Present Indefinite...». Title of verb in Eglish grammar «Present Indefinite» gives the general purport.»

Partial losses 17 May 2013
Alexander Dashevsky works with space, or to be more precise, with the way the space is represented in painting. The artist presented the three-dimensional geometry in his transparent, greyish-blue ‘Swimming pools’ and in the bright green allotments in Pulkovo, inspired by his favourite painter Diebenkorn. Familiar landscape provoked the thoughts of different kinds of space depiction after abstraction.

"As that" 01 Mar 2013 In my childhood my father and I would go for a walk and play the game that he invented, it was called ‘Like what?’. He said – ‘a cloud’, I said – ‘like a hare’, I said – ‘a fur tree’, father answered – ‘like a hutched old man’ and so on endlessly. The exhibition of the two artists applies to precisely this principle: ‘like what?’. Hrustalev’s napkin is like a top at the sunset, Simun’s canister is like the Virgin Mary. They have different approaches, but the same way of looking at things.
