Cosmoscow 2019
Anna Nova Gallery is pleased to participate in Cosmoscow art fair, September 6-8 2019. The gallery will present works by Maria Agureeva, Vlad Kulkov and Egor Kraft.
Vlad Kulkov
Objects, video
Vlad Kulkov, best known for his abstract painting, also works with sculpture. The gallery’s stand will feature bronze objects from his series of experiments "Transgenesis". The prototype of the bronze objects objects obtained by transfiguration of boiling wax in the snow of the winter riverbed became the prototype of bronze sculptures. They capture the moment of collision of living and nonliving matter, reflecting the moment of plastic transition. The process of creating sculptures is similar to the ritual process and is an artistic experiment, the video documentation of which complements the presented objects.
Egor Kraft
Objects, video
Cosmoscow visitors will see selected projects by Еgor Kraft including Content Aware Studies, Kickback, and New Now. The projects were part of his solo exhibition Akkta at Anna Nova Gallery in the fall of 2018.
Maria Agureeva
Objects, prints
In her new series, Maria turns to the current environmental agenda, exploring the human impact on the environment. The works presented at the fair are based on the problem of man's absorption of nature, his irrational attitude to it, which l climate change and irreversible transformation of ecosystems of national parks. To create the works, Maria used pieces of charred logs left after the fires and bark and wood from the Sequoia National Park in Los Angeles, which she combined with artificial materials: latex, plastic and synthetic fabrics, thus focusing on the balance of natural and artificial materials and their mutual influence.
In addition, Maria Agureeva has become the winner of Ruinart Art Patronat grant to implement her new project at the fair. Her work "Passing" includes installation, game performance and video, and is accompanied by a sound art created by Igor Titov. In an effort to find answers to pressing issues of our time, the artist will create and destroy art objects in real time, thereby demonstrating the process of rebirth in both philosophical and material terms.
