Anna Nova Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the Contour art fair, taking place in Nizhny Novgorod. The gallery will present a solo project by artist Haim Sokol, whose works address the subject of memory and the diverse ways in which the past is perceived and interpreted.
The exhibition will include graphic works from several of Sokol’s series: “Palimpsestas” (2007–2010), “Without a Name” (2010–2014), “Calyche for Messiah” (2014–2016), and” Without a Name (Pogrom)” (2020). Created over the span of more than a decade, the works are united by a thematic line: the vulnerability of the individual in the face of historical processes.
Through his work, Sokol reflects on the complexities of engaging with historical trauma and the enduring presence of the past within contemporary experience.
