Piotr Diakov works with such mediums as sculpture, objects, and installations. The artist is a participant and co-founder of the North-7 group. In his practice, Diakov addresses the Baroque style, simultaneously playing and deconstructing its main features - exorbitance, theatricality, eye for gesture, and expressivity. The hallmark of Diakov’s method is using molds of his own hands to create plastic shapes.
His works were exhibited in the State Russian Museum and Moscow Museum of Modern Art. Piotr Diakov is a participant and co-founder of the North-7 group, as a member of which he became the winner of the Present Continuous Award of the V-A-C Foundation together with the M HKA Museum (2018), nominee of the Sergey Kuryokhin Award for Contemporary Art (2018) and the National Innovation Award for Contemporary Art (2019).
Piotr Diakov’s works are in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Antwerp (M HKA) and the Museum of 20th–21st Century Art in St. Petersburg (St. Petersburg, Russia), as well as at the AZ Museum (Moscow, Russia).
