The exhibition “Skin of the Earth” is the main project of the First International Biennale of Environmental Art, taking place in Nizhny Novgorod from April 18 to November 20, 2025.
Many reflections on the “skin of the earth” refer to something very close, primordial, giving life to all living things. Thanks to agriculture, human civilization itself emerged, so the authors often address their projects to the times of origin of agrarian cultures, to their real and mythological histories, local practices and beliefs.
"The main task of the Biennale is to designate ecology as the main and unifying, even in a fragmented world, theme of our time. This is a project about a common destiny and a trigger project designed to engage the viewer in reflection and a metaphorical journey," says Dmitry Hankin, managing partner of Triumph Gallery.
The exhibition takes place at two venues: Mytny Market and the Yermolayev Hotel. You can see the project until October 1, 2025.
