We are taking part in the third edition of the SKAN fair and are delighted to present works by Dima Filippov from his solo project ‘Time of Land’, which was realised at the Anna Nova Gallery in 2024.

The title ‘Time of Land’ of Filippov’s series of graphic works refers to the central approach in the artist’s practice — his exploration of the theme of landscape, his use of fieldwork methods, and his interpretation of the rich theoretical legacy of land art. Dima’s conceptual approach to creating his works centres on the earth itself as an image and a symbol capable of capturing the relationship between humankind and the landscape.

“Dima offers a new take on the history of de-terrioralization of art, land art. He incorporates his personal memories into the environment he reclaims and initiates dialogues both in time and space. The artist uses figurative means to modify conceptual practices and shifts focus towards tactile and sonorous features of a landscape. Moreover, he juxtaposes personal and universal matters in terms of location and age and enriches the contemporary Russian art with a whole set of new artistic relations and methods.”
