"The well-known events that took place in France, served as an impetus for creativity. The dwellers of the immigrant districts in Paris and other cities plunged a well-off country into fear and trembling. The country was on the brink of civil war. One of the most effective actions affecting the calm bourgeois conscience were the explosions and burning of cars. Flames appeared on TV screens all around the world...

All this topical social and political background is actually hidden and was not read by our artists who have chosen forms and technology for the transfer of a breaking news reality into the material of art that are not obvious from the perspective of contemporary art. ... Indeed, the delicate and minimalist outline of the cubic models replete with combs of flame is a shocking form. It turns a catastrophe, a tragic event into a souvenir joke. Just imagine ‘’souvenirs’’ of the New York twin towers."
