“Catching Reality Unawares” — a master class by Sasha Kokacheva as part of the ARTELIER project at Archstoyanie

Festival of landscape art objects “Archstoyanie”, Nikola-Lenivets

On July 25 and 26, Sasha Kokacheva held a master class “Catching Reality Unawares” as part of the ARTELIER project at the festival of landscape art objects “Archstoyanie” in Nikola-Lenivets.

The artist about the theme of the master class:

"The oversaturation and ephemerality of information flows, in which people are drowning, causes frustration and a sense of loss of reality: we glide over the surface of images and news, without having time to see the details. Identity becomes blurred and time becomes fragmented. In the age of digital memory, the very possibility of losing anything is lost, yet we cannot focus on our present in a constant stream of images"

Participants in the event attempted to represent the ephemeral smudged stream from the photo, with emphases on minor details, on conventional markers of time. To create an image that gathers into a single collage, but does not lead to completeness and “catch” the feeling of ghostliness and blurriness.

The ARTELIER project was realized by the SFERA Foundation and the Pink Bus brand
