On August 24 at 5:00 PM, the public space “Community” on New Holland Island will host an artist talk with artist Fedor Hirosige and director Diana Galimzyanova, along with a showing of video artworks — “Arrival” (2022) and “Lady Mushroom’s Lover” (2024).
The evening will be opened with a discussion of the artist’s creative practice. Together with Anna Maiskaya, research associate at Anna Nova Gallery, we will explore how the image of Lady Mushroom emerged and what meanings audiences may discover in it.
Viewers will then see how Lady Mushroom steps beyond the boundaries of static imagery to become a film character. The key work for discussion is “Lady Mushroom’s Lover”, an experimental video artwork created through the hybridization of artificial intelligence and live-action filming. Its director, video artist and performer Diana Galimzyanova, will share her artistic approach during the talk.
Finally, Fedor Hirosige, in the guise of Lady Mushroom, will take the stage – breaking the fourth wall between viewers and the characters on screen. Together with Diana Galimzyanova, they will answer audience questions, transforming the Q&A into an improvised performance within the Community space.
