Webinar by the curators and participants of the exhibition ‘The Format Has Changed’ — ‘Transitional Exhibition: Multimedia, Collaboration, and Transformation’

Online meeting as part of the Kafedra.school programme | 23 October, 7 p.m.

The webinar is dedicated to the large-scale multimedia project ‘The Format Has Changed,’ organised in collaboration between Anna Nova Gallery and dreamlaser. You will learn about the history of the exhibition's creation — from the initial concept to the final implementation.

Exhibition curators Artem Moroz and Anna Gagarina will share case studies of the successful transformation of archival artworks into self-sufficient digital objects.

The speakers will talk about methods of adapting works to new formats, how to build communication with artists, and how to create a coherent exhibition in an experimental exhibition space.

Particular attention will be paid to how to preserve the conceptual value of each work and its original meaning in the process of transition between media.

Fedor Hiroshige will talk about his work ‘Dancing Lady Mushroom’. You will learn how the image of a dancing lady mushroom, which originated in hand-drawn sketches, was transformed into an immersive digital environment.

Ilya Fedotov-Fedorov will present the project ‘Archipelago of Symptoms,’ based on his personal experience of living with a rare congenital kidney disorder. Using archival medical data — X-rays, radiography and ultrasound results — the artist trained a neural network, transforming archival materials into generative organisms of a new form of life.

Participation is free of charge upon prior registration.

The webinar will be of interest to artists, AI specialists, curators, students of creative universities, and anyone interested in the art world.
