I regard each of my works as a living being

As a part of his artistic practice, Aljoscha explores the visual possibilities of synthetic biology. He manifests a new aesthetics of the organic life of the future, defining the direction of his creativity with the term bioism. According to this concept, in the future, the artist will abandon traditional materials for creating artworks and will start using living matter, inventing the appearance of new forms of life.

 

The artist creates abstract installations and biomorphic objects with acrylic glass and metal, as well as graphic works. Aljoscha is known for integrating his works into public spaces, placing installations in churches, cathedrals and schools. Over the past two years, Aljoscha had 10 solo exhibitions and has taken part in the TEFAF 2020 fairs in New York and Maastricht. In 2020, the artist received a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.

 

The artist's works are included in the collections of the Tate Modern gallery in London, the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, the Kupferstichkabinett in Berlin, the Allen Memorial Art Museum, The Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Greek State Museum of Modern Art and the Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art.
