Book: Boris Koshelokhov Chronicle / Two Highways

"Boris Koshelohov is a unique combination of not an advertising, but a genuine legendarity and amazing beautiful gift. He watered the anemic urban painting with color, freed it from unnecessary reflection, imposed a monumental simplicity, dating back to primitive art and expressionism of the early 20th century. "
Mikhail Trofimenkov

Together with the joint retrospective exhibition project, two books appeared, one of them is about the period when Boris Koshelokhov only took up painting, about an art-group "Chronicle", from which Elena Figurina and Timur Novikov emerged and the latter founded his own band "New Artists" afterwards, and the second book is about the most large-scale of his art projects – the stream "Two Highways" - two-speed ways - earthly and heavenly, which contain thousands of pastels and sketches to one huge painting, a mural of 5000 square meters, on the creation of which he continues to work to this day. Sketches, fixations of the impressions of people rushing, and flying fish, and northern hunters and pagan idols, and the churches, and the houses, and the faces and the masks, and the birth and the death, and the barely hatched chicks, and funny cars and sunrises, and the sunset. In these books dialogues with the artist, the texts of his friends, journalists, critics, illustrations and archival photographs are collected.

The book is available at the gallery shop.
