Irina Drozd in the Goose Goose restaurant

Anna Nova Gallery and Goose Goose restaurant announce a collaboration and present a project.

From March 22 to April 30, 2021, guests of the restaurant will be able to see an exhibition of paintings, graphics and sculptures by Irina Drozd from the Quiet Games project, as well as take part in an art dinner with Irina Drozd and art critic Olesya Turkina, which will be held on April 1, 2021 at the Goose Goose restaurant.

In her works, Irina Drozd creates a bright fantasy world where children's worldview and imagination are combined  with the basis of our existence — food. Here is what Irina writes about her attitude to food: "Often in my works there is Red food - as a symbol of Beauty, life, blood and sacrifice at the same time (...) The red food on the table is not just food, but images of creatures who sacrifice themselves for us."

Her sculptures - toy monsters, depicted with hyperrealistic precision, lie motionless in the middle of a plate or dish, forming an unusual surreal still life. Through the images created by the author, living beings conduct an active dialogue, turning into frozen delicacies in the world of adult conformists.

During the art dinner, Irina Drozd will talk with Olesya Turkina, an art critic and leading researcher in the Department of the Latest Trends of the Russian Museum, about the images of monsters in the history of art, and will tell in detail about her practice, sources of inspiration and the process of work.
