The amber is a language of history and memory, I am using it to transmit the problems of its selectivity
In her artistic practice Mayana Nasybullova explores the mechanisms of personal and collective memory, as well as the problematics of representation trauma through art. As sculptor she deals with various materials, including plaster, ceramics, silicone, resin, and found objects. Her works incorporate different media such as installation, sculpture, graphics, sound, etc.
She took part in over 100 group exhibitions. Participant of the 5th Moscow International Biennale of Young Art (2016), the Triennale of Russian Contemporary Art (2017), the project ‘Nemoskva is not far away’ (2020). She was the nominee for the Zverev Prize for Contemporary Art (2021).
Mayana works are in the collections of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Museum Center ‘Peace Square’, Iris Foundation, Ruarts Foundation.
