Projects by ::vtol:: and Andrey Kuzkin at the 13th Kandinsky Prize nominees' exhibition

The 13th Kandinsky Prize nominees’ exhibition opened at Moscow Museum of Modern Art. Among the nominees are ::vtol:: and Andrey Kuzkin in the nomination ‘Project of the Year’:

— ‘Interface of the Ongoing’, ::vtol::
This exhibition is a specially constructed space, a technological ‘total installation’ whose elements are 'non-functional' machines which actions are subject to their own, hacked logic. By making sense of natural and social processes through technology, ::vtol:: tells stories through the devices.
— ‘Prayers and Heroes’, Andrey Kuzkin
The production of this installation over 3 years has been an important performative practice for the artist. The work is a kind of tribute that Andrey pays to the country's tragic history. The figures are all made from bread and the heads are covered with the artist's blood.
The exhibition is on view till 21 November.
The winners will be announced on 17 November.
